PBSGL: Scotland and Denmark

We are developing stronger links with Denmark and have several PBSGL projects running at present. The largest is the piloting of Scottish PBSGL modules with the Capital Region of Denmark (Copenhagen). This is the largest of the five regions of Denmark and approximately 20 groups are taking part in an 18-month long pilot. Most Danish GPs are already in formed groups and are now using our modules to learn together and from the evidence base in the module. Several Scottish modules have been translated into Danish and the region hopes to produce its own modules in time.

Last year six Danish GPs from the island region of Zealand (Sjaelland in Danish) came over to Scotland and three Lothian groups hosted them. The GPs spent time in health centres and surgeries and then went along to the evening PBSGL meeting. This June we’re expecting 12 Danish visitors and they are heading further afield. Their provisional plans are to visit practices and groups in Inverness and (time permitting) Lochinver and the Isle of Skye. PBSGL Scotland thanks all the practices and groups who have welcomed Danish GPs to Scotland and for allowing them to learn more about PBSGL and Scottish general practice. We await the results of the Danish PBSGL pilot.  Skoal!
