GPN 2 Day Residential - Minor Illness (Glasgow)





This course is a residential 2 day CPD course provided by NES, as part of the course offer all participants will benefit from one night's free accommodation at the venue.  We would recommend trainees utilise this offer as a networking opportunity to meet other GPN's from around Scotland.

To introduce practitioners to a range of common minor illness presentations including;



  • ENT 
  • Lower respiratory tract infections/cough
  • Rashes/Skin infections 
  • Head, neck and back
  • MSK system
  • Abdominal pain, D&V, indigestion, constipation
  • Gynaecology: vaginal discharge, pain, menstrual problems, contraception (Emergency), menopause
  • Men’s health
  • Mental Health, including depression, anxiety

    Following this foundation training, competence needs to be achieved with clinical supervision, mentoring and support.


Cancellation Notice:  Please be mindful that although this course is free for you to attend, the Scottish Government has funded your place from public resources.  We expect a high demand but are unlikely to be able to fill places at short notice from busy General Practices.  Therefore, if you are unable to attend for any reason at all we would be very grateful if you could please let us know no later than 14 days before the event to avoid a £200 cancellation fee to cover committed venue, catering and accommodation costs and to ensure we have the opportunity to try and fill your place.

GPN Academic Writing Workshop (GPN PROGRAMME)

This workshop is aimed at the new trainees on the NES GPN Programme (Cohort 7 18/19) and will explore the challenges of writing in an academic register and provide a range of strategies that can be used to develop your academic voice. The workshop will cover the use of language, structuring your writing and proofreading your own work to take a holistic view of the writing process from a blank page through to a completed piece of work.
