CPD Connect: Preparing for GP Partnership - On Line Training
This CPD
Connect course has been designed to help GPs feel better prepared for GP
partnership. Covering a range of topics relevant to partnership through a
combination of expert-led teaching, real-life experiences from current GP
partners and practical discussions with peers, alongside plenty of opportunity
to ask questions.
You will need to be able to
attend all four of the online webinars. The four webinars will take place
online via Microsoft Teams and will be on Wednesday mornings commencing at
09:30 and finishing at 12:00.
The programme is as follows:
- Wednesday 4th November: Human Resources
- Wednesday 18th November: Finance
- Wednesday 2nd December: Partnership Agreements, GP
Contracts and Practice Structures, Practice Interfaces
- Wednesday 16th December: Teamwork, Leadership and
Well-being
Who should attend:
GPs who are planning to become partners for the first time
Newly appointed GP Partners
As part of these initial pilot cohorts, places are fully
funded, providing an opportunity to access this programme at no cost.

CPD Connect: Preparing for GP Partnership - In Person Training: Inverness
This CPD
Connect course has been designed to help GPs feel better prepared for GP
partnership. Covering a range of topics relevant to partnership through a
combination of expert-led teaching,
real-life experiences from current GP
partners and practical discussions with peers, alongside plenty of opportunity
to ask questions.
This is IN PERSON training and will take place at UCI House in Inverness on Tuesday 10 November commencing at 09:00 and finishing at 17:00.
The session will cover the following:
Practice
finances and accounts
Personal finance implications of partnership
The basics of human resources
Partnership agreements
GP Contracts
Teamwork and navigating conflict
Leadership and practice culture
Well-being and sources of support
As there is a lot of content to cover in this course,
some of this material is pre-recorded. These
must be watched prior to attending the in-person course. You will be emailed these recordings
approximately 4 weeks in advance of the course.

This CPD

This is IN PERSON training and will take place at 177 Bothwell Street in Glasgow on Wednesday 3 February 2027 commencing at 09:00 and finishing at 17:00.
The session will cover the following:

CPD Connect: Introduction to Leadership Workshop
Great leadership skills are crucial and most helpful when navigating times of great ambiguity, uncertainty and challenge, all of which seem to be more and more prevalent in our day-to-day working lives.
The words leadership and management are often used in the
same sentence but what is the difference? Understanding how you may be limiting
yourself at present, by not working in leader mode is key to successfully navigating
the world of work. When it comes to leadership it is often said that emotional
intelligence is the difference that makes the difference. This workshop will
explore emotional intelligence and in particular self-awareness, self-management,
social awareness and relationship management.
The course will help you make sense of what leadership is, help you develop your personal leadership approach and how you can apply it in your day-to-day practice. You will be encouraged to learn what it is like to be on the receiving end of you.
CPD Connect invite you to attend a full day workshop, delivered via Microsoft Teams, commencing at 09:30 on Wednesday 11 November 2026. The workshop will be interactive, blending leadership theory with practical day-to-day techniques, examples, participant contributions and group work. We will incorporate action planning and review sessions into the workshop so that the participants are actively encouraged to apply their learning into their day jobs.
Who should attend:
First5 GPs who want to develop their leadership skills and have greater confidence in handling ambiguity, uncertainty and challenge.
