CPD Connect (Pilot for GPs): Palliative and End of Life Care - Simulation-based learning

Target Audience: First5 GPs.  (When booking, please enter your CCT date in the Special Requirements box to authenticate your funding).

The team at CPD connect would like to welcome you to a simulation based learning event focusing on palliative care.

Simulation based learning is a technique used in many medical specialities to train skills related to specific needs- we all do it to some extent with BLS, role play and in teaching and training scenarios with staff in practice. The link below has a video by Dr Jemma Pringle of what to expect in an immersive simulation event.

Simulation Toolbox | Clinical Skills Managed Educational Net

For this palliative and end of life care course - the scenarios have been designed to support and challenge the learners working in primary care.

Learners will have the opportunity to :

  1. manage risk and uncertainty,
  2. explore emotionally challenging situations,
  3. rehearse end of life communication skills in a safe and supportive environment.

Contact CPD Connect for any further information.

This workshop has been designed for a small group of learners.  We are currently able to offer places at no charge due to Scottish Government funding, but it is highly resource intensive.  While we understand that unexpected emergencies may arise, please only book if you are genuinely confident that you can attend.

This is IN-PERSON learning - venue is NHS Education for Scotland, 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow, G2 7ER
