Us and Them - The Primary-Secondary Care Interface.

Published November 2017

This module has been developed for groups of Primary and Secondary care clinicians to study

together at a group meeting. It was developed by a group which contained Primary and Secondary

Care clinicians. The term “interface” refers to where the patient moves from one part of the health

service to another.

The module can be studied by any PBSGL group so long as they are aware of how the module

differs from other modules. This will involve PBSGL group members widening their focus, to see

how the interface affects those working in hospitals. At times, a question in a case asks a specialist

how they would deal with a situation.

Pilot groups found it was helpful and worthwhile to invite at least one Secondary Care clinician to

their meeting to study this module.
