  • Gender Based Violence
    Enhanced Full Day Course

    Learning Objectives

    1) Explain why gender is so important in the context of domestic abuse and Gender Based violence.

    2) Explain the dynamics of domestic abuse and coercively controlling behaviours.

    3) Understand and recognise the effects of domestic abuse on victims.

    4) Develop understanding around the term Gender Based Violence and cultural and societal factors that impact patients.

    5) Enhance confidence in recognising various forms of abuse and provide a trauma-informed response to those who disclose experiencing domestic abuse.

    6) Understand and utilise workplace procedures for addressing gender based violence concerns.

    7) Refine history-taking skills for sensitive situations.

    8) Develop effective strategies and gain awareness of the resources and services available for managing gender based violence concerns.

    9) Navigate the uncertainty inherent in Gender Based violence scenarios with confidence.

    10) Cultivate strong communication skills for building trust and rapport.

  • Palliative Care and End of Life
    Enhanced Full Day Course

    Learning Objectives

    1) Awareness of the types of consultations or situations that cause practitioner stress.

    2) Sharing of consultation models that support the practitioner in these situations.

    3) Practice and share advanced communication techniques.

  • Psychiatric Emergencies
    Half day Course

    Learning Objectives

    1) Develop strategies for safe patient management, including effective time management.

    2) Be able to recognise acute psychiatric illness.

    3) Acquire knowledge of detention protocols and procedures.

    4) Enhance skills in utilising and referring to psychiatric teams effectively.

    5) Foster awareness of safety considerations in psychiatric care.

    6) Improve clinical skills and decision-making when faced with diagnostic uncertainty.

  • Emergencies in Primary Care
    Half Day Course

    Learning Objectives

    1) Practice in a safe but realistic environment, using simulation based scenarios.

    2) How to recognise and respond to a range of emergencies that may be faced in Primary Care.

Each course includes a teaching session led by a subject matter expert and complementary, interactive GP Sim scenarios to reinforce learning.
