CPD Connect (First5 GPs): Psychiatry Cases - Simulation-based learning

GP simulation offers a safe and supportive environment where you can hone your skills and decision-making.  In this engaging course you'll collaborate in a small group, actively participating in realistic patient scenarios.  These interactions are observed by fellow participants, followed by a guided discussion led by a skilled facilitator.  This reflective process encourages deeper learning and is tailored to your individual goals.

Target Audience: First5 GPs.  (When booking, please enter your CCT date in the Special Requirements box to authenticate your funding).

This workshop has been designed for a small group of learners.  We are currently able to offer places at no charge due to Scottish Government funding, but it is highly resource intensive.  While we understand that unexpected emergencies may arise, please only book if you are genuinely confident that you can attend.

This is IN-PERSON learning - venue is NHS Education for Scotland, 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow G2 7ER.

CPD Connect: Introduction to Joint Injections - PILOT

The CPD Connect Team invite you to attend a half-day pilot of an Introduction to Joint Injections workshop for GPs on Thursday 11 September 2025 at our offices in Glasgow.  This is a pilot session where we hope to gain your feedback in how to strengthen the delivery and content of this course.

This pilot session will cover the following:

- targeted history and examination of common joints and associated conditions

- review of intra-articular joint injections as a treatment

- review of consent and risks of performing a joint injection

- practical experience using joint models

- discussion including case-based scenarios

This course is aimed at First5 GPs, both beginners and those with some joint injection experience.

Early booking is essential as our joint injection courses are regularly over-subscribed.

We are currently able to offer places to First5 GPs at no charge due to Scottish Government funding, but this course is highly resource intensive.  While we understand that unexpected emergencies may arise, please only book if you are genuinely confident that you can attend.

We will be asking all delegates for their feedback after the session to help shape future delivery.
