GPN CPD Connect - Complete Health - Contraception Part 1


Welcome to our suite of workshops, designed and delivered by subject matter experts.
Our first event includes an overview of oral contraceptives, long acting reversible contraceptives, emergency contraception and referral pathways for termination of pregnancy.  


Cancellation Notice
Please be mindful that although this course is free for you to attend, The Scottish Government has funded your place from public resources.  
We expect high demand but are unlikely to be able to fill places at short notice from busy General Practices.
If you are unable to attend for any reason we will require 10 working days notice of Cancellation before the event otherwise we are left with no option but to charge a £75.00 cancellation fee.

Assessment week: TBC.

To prepare registered healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with minor illnesses.

To explore the prevention, diagnosis and management of long term conditions including acute presentations and to enable participants to develop and apply underpinning knowledge, skills and attitudes to the management of patients with long term conditions.

Course covers: respiratory, diabetes, vascular, neurological conditions and cancer. This may change to include other areas.

14-week online course delivered by Edinburgh Napier University. Course begins week commencing 18th January 2021.

Delivered as a fully online learning module.
 

This module examines the theory of Diabetes Mellitus as it affects children and adults across the lifespan, and relates this to patient care and health education. Students will understand that Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic illness, which unless managed effectively by both the health care professionals and the patient may result in acute and long-term complications.  This module will prepare the student to educate and support patients and their carers in their understanding that lifestyle changes and treatment compliance will enhance their quality of life and reduce the risk, or delay the onset, of complications.

Please note booking for this course will close on 3rd December 2020 to allow time to complete the registration process with Edinburgh Napier University.
