PBSGL Module Production Plans for 2020-2021 `29/01/2020

Before Christmas and into the New Year we undertook our annual survey of proposed modules to be produced in 2020-2021.

We received a fantastic response which has helped us decide which modules will be produced in the coming module production year due to kick of April 2020, these are as follows:

1. Cervical screening

2. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.  These conditions have a significant effect on health, but there remains controversy about nomenclature, diagnosis and treatment, and the evidence base for these

3. Persistent Physical Symptoms (previously known as Medically Unexplained Symptoms) including fibromyalgia

4. Pre-hospital care of acute emergencies which may include examples such as acute severe asthma

5. Medical management of chronic pain including opiate withdrawal

6. Managing abnormal haematology results - e.g. low platelets and raised white cell count amongst other common problems in results

7. Tick-borne diseases including Lyme disease and other pathogens which are transmitted to patients via ticks

8. Update on common thyroid problems in primary care including interpretation of TFTs results and the prescribing of Tri-iodothyronine

9. Hormone Replacement Therapy and alternatives to HRT

10. Infant feeding problems (e.g. reflux and milk allergies) and breast feeding)

In addition to the above, we will also Tartanise the following modules:
